Out of the Cellar

News from the campaign genius Larry LaRocco who is literally all over the state:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LaRocco: 2008 U.S. Senate Election Will Take Idaho out of the Cellar in Congressional Influence

Boise, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 -- Larry LaRocco, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate today reacted to the recently released rock bottom national rankings of the Idaho congressional delegation.

"All of that will change after the election in November." LaRocco said. "Three factors will take Idaho out of basement in the scorecard of congressional power. When I am elected to the U.S. Senate I will be a member of the majority and I will have seniority in the new class of U.S. Senators because of my service in the U.S. House of Representatives. Also, I have the congressional experience to hit the ground running. These three factors will be of great benefit for Idaho," LaRocco said.

"With Senator Craig's departure from the U.S. Senate, we need someone who can be effective from day one and reach across the aisle to solve our state and nation's problems. I will do exactly that," LaRocco said.

LaRocco represented the First Congressional District of Idaho from 1991 - 1995. By tradition and policy in the U.S. Senate, when a former Member of Congress enters the Senate his service in the U.S. House of Representatives is considered for seniority over other entering freshmen U.S. Senators.

Idaho was the lowest ranking congressional delegation of all 50 states in a survey by Knowlegis LLC.
